Skilltrees.ai weekly updates

Hi Everyone,

We’re starting a new weekly update for the community for our learn + build platform: skilltrees.ai. We’re on a mission to help anyone build any skillset through personalized project paths. Portfolios > pedigrees in the 21st century.

We’ve started shipping new features for v2 and will be sharing weekly updates here to make sure you have the latest. If these aren’t for you, that’s okay. You can unsubscribe from this section in substack here.

If you want to be the first to try skilltrees.ai v2, we’re rolling out a limited number of free beta accounts right now.

Quick intro and context

In the last few months, we shipped the first version of skilltrees. We manually added guides for vibe coding, no code ai agents, and voice agents based on what we learned in helping people 1-1 in 2 week sprints.

We maxed out manual guide writing, and we found personalized feedback to be the most valuable part of the build sprints. We’re baking both of these into v2 as we explore how far we can push large language models to be helpful in personalized skill building journeys.

1. Make your own guides

The core of the new skilltree is a canvas where you can add your own guides based on any topic you’re curious about. The guide is a way to break up a larger project into actionable step.

The guide-creation tool makes a page with:

1. Relevant youtube video

2. One pager summarizing the information

3. Action item to test understanding

4. More resources that may be helpful

This feature gives you control to branch off into any topic. You can use it as a mind map like a structured rabbit hole, or figure out what you don’t know as you work to complete a tree. It should help find ways around blockers.

While we’ve started with machine learning and hardware based projects in the community, we want to build the best skills based platform for anyone to learn anything they want.

You can copy and paste the topics directly below to generate your guides.

• Jeff is learning flavor pairings for oolong tea snacks.

3. Up next: Reddy, the AI Assistant Coach

To complement the new dynamic canvas of a skilltree, we’re working on an AI assistant coach who can answer questions along the way like “where should I start?” or “how would you explain this concept?”
