Hi Everyone,
Weâre starting a new weekly update for the community for our learn + build platform: skilltrees.ai. Weâre on a mission to help anyone build any skillset through personalized project paths. Portfolios > pedigrees in the 21st century.
Weâve started shipping new features for v2 and will be sharing weekly updates here to make sure you have the latest. If these arenât for you, thatâs okay. You can unsubscribe from this section in substack here.
If you want to be the first to try skilltrees.ai v2, weâre rolling out a limited number of free beta accounts right now.
Quick intro and context
In the last few months, we shipped the first version of skilltrees. We manually added guides for vibe coding, no code ai agents, and voice agents based on what we learned in helping people 1-1 in 2 week sprints.
We maxed out manual guide writing, and we found personalized feedback to be the most valuable part of the build sprints. Weâre baking both of these into v2 as we explore how far we can push large language models to be helpful in personalized skill building journeys.
1. Make your own guides
The core of the new skilltree is a canvas where you can add your own guides based on any topic youâre curious about. The guide is a way to break up a larger project into actionable step.
The guide-creation tool makes a page with:
Relevant youtube video
One pager summarizing the information
Action item to test understanding
More resources that may be helpful
This feature gives you control to branch off into any topic. You can use it as a mind map like a structured rabbit hole, or figure out what you donât know as you work to complete a tree. It should help find ways around blockers.
Want to be the first to try it out?
2. Some inspiration for guides to try
While weâve started with machine learning and hardware based projects in the community, we want to build the best skills based platform for anyone to learn anything they want.
You can copy and paste the topics directly below to generate your guides.
Some inspiration from the community below
Moses is exploring MIDI data processing for a machine learning project using LSTM models to generate music.
Dylan is checking out structures for sci-fi story openers for his creative writing project.
Michael is using skilltrees to understand what makes a âgood lifeâ checking out golden mean concept for virtues by Aristotle.
Amy is exploring concepts in private equity for small business acquisition in Boston.
Jeff is learning flavor pairings for oolong tea snacks.
Reply back with your own guide if you have one to share with the community.
3. Up next: Reddy, the AI Assistant Coach
To complement the new dynamic canvas of a skilltree, weâre working on an AI assistant coach who can answer questions along the way like âwhere should I start?â or âhow would you explain this concept?â
More in next weekâs blog.
Keep building,
Michael + Dylan from Worldwide Studios
Ps. We also host 1-1 two week sprints for people who want to build faster than they can alone. More here.
